Rebecca Gray
Director
Rebecca is the owner and director of Rebecca Gray Dance. Rebecca has 25 years of dance experience in Ballet, Jazz and Hip hop. Rebecca has completed all levels of RAD Ballet and NZAMD Jazz and now examines for the APDA Urban Ignition Syllabus. Rebecca set up RGD Studios in 2010 with the goal of creating a positive and uplifting environment for students to excel in dance.
Ashley Medcalfe
Hip Hop Teacher & Crew Manager
Ashley has been a trained dancer since she was 5 with a background in Modern Jazz, Tap and Hiphop. She then pursued Hip hop extensively dancing with triple8funk dance company, freshmans and IDCO. Ashley has a wealth of experience in Hip Hop competitions and leads the competition crews at RGD
Brodie Record
Hip Hop Teacher
Brodie has been a part of the NZ street dance scene for 9 years. Within this time she has won 4 medals at the World Hip Hop Championships with the Royal Family Dance Crew. During her 6 years at the Palace Dance Studio she was lucky enough to travel to Los Angeles and compete on the televised dance competition World Of Dance with Mini RQ. . In teaching, Brodie aims to create a fun, supportive space for every student to push them to be the best version of themselves in and out of the studio.
Caitlin Walker
Jazz Teacher
Caitlin has trained in Jazz, Ballet, Musical Theatre, Tap, Irish Dance, Contempary, Hip Hop and Latin Dance. She was successfully accepted to Brent Street Studios in 2015 where she completed her Diploma of Musical Theatre. Caitlin has worked as both a teacher and as a choreographer for the APDA syllabus, with a wealth of experience spanning over 10 years. Caitlin hopes to inspire the same love for dance that she was given from her teachers as a student
Tim Hoskins
Jazz & Contemporary Teacher
Tim has trained in Jazz, Ballet, Musical Theatre, Tap, Commercial and Contemporary. Tim completed a Cert IV in Dance at Brent Street in Sydney. He has sat JazzAddict dance exams to Solo Seal and is now an examiner for the APDA syllabus. Tim loves to see his students flourish and strive to be the best that they can be.
Raychel Tapsell
Hip Hop Teacher
Raychel is a passionate dancer, predominantly trained in Hip Hop and Street Dance. For the past decade, she has been shaping herself into an outgoing and hard-working dancer in the professional dance scene in New Zealand. After joining Identity Dance Company, (directed by Joshua Cesan) she competed with crews IDCO, Masque, and YUNG ID, receiving a Bronze medal at the World Hip Hop Championships in 2018.
Shalom Teikamata
Hip Hop Teacher
Shalom has trained in hip hop since she was 11 years old
She is a current member of Freshmans Dance crew and has been the choreographer for multiple NZ crews, and taken a crew to HHI Worlds
Shalom has choreographed for multiple hip hop and theatre shows and loves growing and developing dancers in their skill, performance, well-being and confidence.
Jenna Whiteman
Hip Hop Teacher
Jenna has been dancing since she was 4 years old, and in the past 12 years has trained in Jazz and Contemporary, but with a focus towards Hip Hop. She has been following the APDA Urban Ignition syllabus from Level 1, and is now focusing on her competitive dance training. Jenna hopes to provide an environment in which students can learn and grow, but most importantly have fun and find their passion for dance too.

Nikita Deuchar
Jazz Teacher
Nikita has been trained in Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary and Hiphop. She trained in RAD for Ballet and NZAMD for Jazz. Nikita also works as an early childhood teacher and has a Bachelor of Teaching in ECE. Nikita has a great passion for dance and working with children and is so happy that she gets to bring those two passions together at RGD Studio. She also really enjoys being a dance mum with her two children that also attend RGD Studio.
